EASY WAYS TO UPDATE YOUR BEAUTY ROUTINE FOR AUTUMN AND WINTER

THE PRODUCT PICKS AND SWAPS

WE CAN’T GET ENOUGH OF

Cooler weather is here and that means that for the best skin and hair, it’s time to shake up your beauty routine. Luckily, we’ve got the products (and the experts) to help you make the most of Autumn and Winter. Aveda Makeup Pure-Fessional Anne Skubis can show you how to glow and look gorgeous all spring and summer long.

Cleaning out your beauty cabinet and swapping summer products for winter ones doesn’t need to be a chore — have fun with it! “In winter, when the heat is on full blast, I grab the Tulasāra Renew Morning Creme to make up for any moisture deficiency I experience,” Anne says. In warmer weather, she reaches for Botanical Kinetics Intense Hydrating Soft Creme, a plant-powered creme that doesn’t feel heavy or sticky. “I love using the Botanical Kinetics All-Sensitive Cleanser year-round, but when the seasons change and my allergies act up, I find that I need it even more.” To treat your skin, try Tulasāra Calm Concentrate. Its aroma of oman chamomile, clary sage and neroli will get you in the right seasonal headspace.

Another option? Visit one of our Aveda stores for a FREE mini-facial. This complimentary service will wake up your skin and bring back your glow using products chosen for your specific skin care concerns. You can book an appointment by phoning your nearest store or simply walk in!

If you only purchase one beauty product for autumn and winter, Anne recommends a lip liner and lipstick pairing. “When autumn comes, we often change our hair colour, even if subtly. With a change in hair colour comes the opportunity to change up makeup and try something different,” she says. “I like to wear bright apple reds in the spring and summer like Jujube and Cana and change to deep crimson reds like Feed My Lips lipstick in Chili in autumn and winter. I do the same with the eye shadow colours, switching from bright, fresh colours like Aqua Pearl and Earth Rose to deep jewel tones like the Plum Mist trio.”

Give in to the temptation to channel your inner vamp with nature-inspired berry wine and brownish red tones that mimic the colours of a winter. If pink is your favourite colour, try Feed My Lips lipstick in juicy Morello or Acai. They look gorgeous with a winter-inspired pallette and even better with a hot chocolate or a glass of mulled wine. Just saying.
