SUPERFOODS FOR SUMMER

Nutrient-rich delights that won’t weigh you,

or your hair, down this summer

We’re just as obsessed with superfoods as you are. Our NEW Nutriplenish hair care range is jampacked with these nutrient-rich ingredients, which coincidently are also perfect ingredients to make guilt-free summer treats to help you stay nourished and hydrated, naturally.

POMEGRANATE ICED TEA

Drinking herbal tea daily has myriad health benefits including reducing inflammation, anti-ageing by improving skin health, lowering blood pressure and helping to relax the mind. Up the ante and cool down at the same time by creating a sweet iced tea with the juice of a pomegranate: Pomegranate has powerful nutritional benefits, being rich in Omega 5 fatty acid, a powerful antioxidant. They are in season in Australia from November to March so Summer is the perfect time to indulge in this sweet treat – light and refreshing!

MANGO SORBET

Frozen fruit sorbets are a delicious treat to cool down as the weather heats up and being lighter than cream-based desserts, they are waistline and vegan-friendly! No ice cream churn required! Mangoes will blend to a naturally-creamy consistency but you can add almond or coconut milk as your liquid, especially if using a standard food blender. Hot tip: spoon the mixture into a pre-frozen container to help it freeze quicker and prevent icicles.

COCONUT OIL

Coconut Oil has been incorporated into Ayurvedic medicine for centuries, having both nourishing and immune-boosting properties. Splash cold-pressed oil over Summer salads or substitute with your regular cooking oil for light and nourishing stir-fry concoctions. You can also use it as part of your oral health regimen (swishing around the mouth for 3 – 5 minutes daily is said to help remove bacteria and promote healthy gums) or as a head massage to promote hair growth and strengthen the hair
