Aveda Ambassador and blogger Lua Perez is a true inspiration with her funky fashions and glorious hair color. But what we love most is her joy for travel.
In her blog, Le Happy, Lua recounts her travels to discover new cultures, foods, and fashion— in turn, inspiring us to be our most adventurous and fashionable selves! Because we find her so inspiring, we recently teamed up with Lua to create her own special Le Happy Hair Essentials box, featuring Lua’s Aveda must-haves
Here Lua shares with us more on those favorites and why she loves to travel:
LA: What’s your favorite aspect of traveling?
LUA: I love that you get to experience different things on every single trip. No matter where you go, it’s always diverse and exciting and you learn so much from every culture.
LA: For a long plane ride, what wellness exercises can you offer for a restful experience?
LUA: I usually stretch out a lot and go for a walk after a long flight. Sitting for too many hours is bad for your legs, so I always try to take care of them right after. I also recommend standing up and taking a little walk around the plane — even for just two minutes will help!
LA: What are your travel beauty-must-haves?
LUA: I always bring a good face mask to put on the plane, maybe eye patches as well so I can hydrate my skin while traveling. I also bring Shampure™ Dry Shampoo because my hair gets greasy way more when I travel. I also put on Dry Remedy™ Moisturizing Masque when I get home or the hotel to nourish my hair.
LA: You recently spent the holidays in Peru, what was that like?
LUA: Peru is my home so it is mostly spending time with my family and friends and eating yummy food. I love homemade food and the traditional Peruvian ceviche from my favorite restaurant.
LA: What are your favorite travel activities?
LUA: I love shopping! It is so inspiring to go shopping in other countries because the whole aesthetic is always different and it gives me so many ideas and widens my perspective on what to wear!
LA: Do you have any upcoming adventures you’re looking forward to this year?
LUA: Definitely! Over Valentine’s Day I’m heading to Iceland with my boyfriend as a date trip. I’m so excited!
